What is Tree For Me?

What are Tree For Me grants?

Tree For Me Grants enable community-led efforts to match Toronto residents with trees for planting on private land at no cost to the resident.  Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation supports the granting program by providing grantees with funding, communications support, native trees, staff and volunteer training as well as planning support. Grantees do what they do best, connect with their communities to improve their neighbourhoods. Tree For Me Grants can be used to match Toronto residents with free trees through an organized event, a tree delivery program, or to start or enhance a community project.

Who can apply?

Grants are geared towards community organizations, educational and faith-based institutions and youth groups with an interest in engaging residents in environmental stewardship activities. The program aims to increase the tree canopy with a special emphasis on Toronto’s least treed neighbourhoods. A minimum target of 50 trees planted is expected through each grant (though communities have far exceeded this target in the past and we  encourage you to aim for higher numbers. Your community response may exceed your initial goals and don’t worry, we are here to help you meet the demand!)
